The Coronavirus, also became known as COVID-19, is a virus that causes illness to humans and animals. It is known to start as a common cold and to escalate into severe respiratory infections such as, pneumonia, MERS, SARS, kidney failure, death and so on. This virus started in Wuhan, China in December of 2019. It has led to an outbreak in China, which caused thousands of deaths and has also made its way to multiple countries, including the United States.

The flu, short for influenza, is a viral infection that targets your respiratory system. Symptoms that follow along with this infection are sore throat, fever, muscles aches and headaches. The flu correlates to the Coronavirus because in cases of the Coronavirus, it includes flu like symptoms.

Search Values of Coronavirus Grows Rapidly in Illinois

Prior to January 20, searches of the Coronoavirus has grown rapidly in Illinois and has out ran searches of Influenza. Till this day, the search of Coronavirus continues to grow on average at a popularity value of 100. Whereas, the search of Influenza grows on average at a popularity value of 14. According to an analysis of Google search data, search results show significantly higher values of the Coronavirus on February 29, 2020 than Influenza.

The search of COVID-19 reaches its highest peak on February 29th in the state of Illinois.

More and More news about death tolls and sporadic spreads of the coronavirus influences people to search this virus to stay updated on the issues it is causing.

Hours ago, in Washington D.C, news reports have reported one death of the coronavirus. Also, our president, Donald Trump has called for an executive order to impose travel restrictions in response to the Coronavirus. Many topics surrounding the coronavirus influencing the amount of attention toward the Coronavirus, rather than the flu.

Searches of the flu rises in parts of Illinois

Although search values are low for influenza, it shows within the state of Illinois that it has been mostly searched in Rockford, Illinois. According to an analysis of Google Search data, it reports that Rockford, Illinois has a search value of 100 for the flu.

Beyonce sang at Kobe Bryant’s and Gianna’s Memorial Service

Google searches of Kobe Bryant spiked on Feb. 24 which his Memorial Service took place.

On February 24, 2020, a memorial service was held for Kobe Bryant and his beloved daughter Gianna Bryant at the Staples Center. Beyonce Knowles sung “XO” at Kobe Bryant’s and Gianna’s memorial service on this day. Beyonce mentioned that her single “XO ” was one of Kobe’s favorite songs. And so she honored him and his family with this song. 

Kobe Bryant, 41, was an American Basketball player. He played for the Los Angeles Lakers. His daughter Gianna, 13, dreamed of being a passionate basketball player like her father Kobe Bryant. She was going to head to Connecticut and play for WNBA. Her father trained her at Mamba Sports Academy. Both Kobe Bryant and Gianna passed away in a Helicopter crash that took place in Calabasas, California on January 26.

Beyonce also sang her single “Halo” at this memorial service. Other musicians such as Charlie Puth and  Wiz Khalifa performed “See You Again” and Jennifer Hudson performed “For We All We Know ”  for Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant. Shaquille O’neal also pays tribute to Kobe Bryant.
